Chapter 7 Trigonometric Functions

We define precalculus as Precalculus = College Algebra + College Trigonometry without formal limits.  Thus far in the text we have covered the algebra portion of Precalculus and so we now turn our attention to trigonometry in the last three chapters. The word trigonometry literally means measuring triangles, so naturally most students’ first introduction to trigonometry focuses on triangles.  We wanted the Trigonometry portion of this text to start with the definitions of the circles and angles as well as the relationship between angles and triangles.
